Just The Trees and Only Me

by Cassandra Saint- Charles
(North Miami, Florida )

I wish it was just the trees and only me
Alone and finally free
No cars driving by
No houses or old tarnished buildings
No repulsive irritating animals growling
No NOTHING
Just the trees and only me
With my headphones in my ear
Listening to my favorite melodies
With my pink and blue flowered Journal on my lap
And my pencil crosses around my fingers ready to write
Write just the words I feel
Not the words that others feel
Not the words that people says to me to make my heart bleed
The heavy wild wind would blow my puffed up hair
It would blow all the pain that I felt
It would blow all the deceits out of my head
I would remember only the words that God said
I would lie down on the neat green grass
Laughing and dreaming
For now I’m just daydreaming
But if it was the trees and only me
It wouldn’t be a dream
It would be real
I would feel the radiation from the sun to my face
I would listen to the wind’s heart running like it’s in a race
I would sing-along to this motivational song
I would dance and laugh like there’s no tomorrow
I would fly around like the white birds
I would sing, and sing just like them
I wish I wish for that any day
I wish I wish I could go to that place
Where my heart wont burn
Where my head won’t burst into flames
I wish, I wish, I wish
I wish it was just the trees and only me
ALONE AND FINALLY FREE!!!
