Keep

by Naomi Oliver
(Watertown, NY)

Break free, regain sovereignty-
Adjourn the suspension of humility,
dispersing in a plentiful manner.
Breath lured the words perched on the tongue,
viable to adhere in existence.

Place the heart in the palm of another,
feel the wind blow, belonging to heaven on earth.
Divulge innocence with blithe indifference,
'twill keep the charm close of yesteryear.
Humble the eyes can see.

Spake the solemn impressions,
measure in the light of the moon.
To the beginning, reversing in manner,
humility given in virtue.
