Launch Break

by Lizbeth Rivas
(Junction City, OR, United States)

Walking back, not expecting
to see such an amazing person.
I stare with a smile and
steal his at the time.
Asks if I was skipping and
I respond with a no,
Letting him know
it’s my launch break.
My mind is going krazie
so happy to see him.
I don’t wanna make it too obvious
or I’ll end up with embarrassment,
So I walk away skipping
and a smile still on my face,
Staring down with my eyes
and jumping over puddles
with sleepers and fries.
