Leaving

by Rachel
(North Somerset, England)

I lie down on the soft sand
Not afraid of whats coming
Almost straight away I felt ice
creep up my feet spreading like
a river across my body

I'm ready I thought, there's nothing
in this life to keep me going
No one to hold on to me
No one that cares about me

I suddenly feel as if I'm being
crushed
I can't breathe and all around me
is darkness

I try to think of happy times
but I feel that there are none
I close my eyes and I feel as
if someone is stabbing my heart

My heart stops beating
My life ended here

Looking Back
by: Rachel (Author)

OMG! Can't believe I'm reading this after 4 years, almost forgotten I had published these. Can only say that I wish I published more so they can be read by many other people and of course publish better ones. I think I am fortunate now than I ever was but re reading this gave me flashbacks from the time I wrote this..

Don't go! I enjoyed reading the poem, it made me feel quite sad, and my immediate thought was I wanted to look after you. So there you go your poem "Leaving" made me care; produced an emotional effect:)
