Left field

by John Smallshaw
(London, England)

If you're taking life on the back foot
Chances are...
..That you'll find lots of the doors shut.

You've got to put your best foot in front
Take a punt
Sure..
..sometimes you'll get shunted aside
But on the back foot it's easy to slide down the slippery slope.

I have hope we can make it
Take it a bit higher
Fire on all cylinders.

It's always the back foot that hinders..
...keeps you in the rear
Life is out front it is here.

So move it along please..just smile and say cheese
It's amazing
It works a real treat.
As long as you're moving both feet..and in time
You'll get used to the rhythm and motion
And wonder what all the commotion was for.

Both feet on the floor
That's the trick
Take your pick
It's easy.
