Lonely Girl

by Cody Binford
(Sacramento, CA)

A lonely young girl, expression is blank,
Lost in this world, grasping a shank,
Carving a prayer, deep in her pelt,
Hearing the man, unbuckle his belt,
Off come his pants, slithering snake,
Blinded by fear, can't help but shake,
Her prayer ignored, left with no choice,
She takes the man's life, silencing voice,
Lost in the void, her heart turns to stone,
Embracing the darkness, never alone.
