Longing

by Adelina
(Rotterdam, The Netherlands, Europe)

Pieces of have-beens jump in, rushi in,
Straight into my loneliest hours,
When words whisper long-gone stories,
sadden my shattered soul, leaving me wandering, wounded,
Hopeless, helpless, haunted

It all seems wasted and I feel isolated, alienated, eliminated
What's the purpose of being alive when all that you do, say, wish is unwanted
What's the meaning of sensitivity when the goal is to numb you out
What's the meaning of feeling love when
one's being deprived from attachment, closeness and attachment

Oh.....How the little one in me longs for a sense of belonging, a scent of meaning and a world wortwhile
