Loss in Love

by Erica
(Worthington, Ohio)

The way your eyes sparkle for her is easy to see,
but can't you see it's the same when you see me?

You leave me at the bottom with the pain blinding,
but you just keep on climbing.

I'm filled with hate and pain,
but I suppose my loss is your gain.

I never meant much to you,
and obviously it's true.

I suffered from Loss in Love,
but the heavens are ever-shining above.
