Love Unseen

by R.M. Brandon
(USA)

True love does not see
the surface of skin
it peers far beneath to beauty locked within.

Blind to the materailism
of every day life
that it may survive through turmoil and strife.

Yet love not selflessly returned cannot be true
even when the lips lie to you.

So yet another lie is spun
damage, never to be undone.

As the sands of life swift steadily by
in the arms of one who never
sees the true love inside.
