LOVE

by Kasmir Chanel
(Virginia)

Why does love seem like a moment?

That we can’t embrace

But we hold onto like a payment

That we wish we could erase

What if we made no mistakes?

What if we never lied, never cheated?

Then nothing that we love would be at stake

Do you remember when things got heated?

When yelling turn to a hobby

And when love started dying by the hour

Why did his love turn to scars?

Standing tall to watch him emotionally and physically make you fall

Blacking out to realize you were still in his car

If you knew everything was true,

Why are you still here?
