Mama's Faith

You may not have
always said your prayers
on bended knees
but I am certain
many of the prayers you whispered
were for me

you were not one
to go to church every Sunday
and sometimes even questioned
your faith

but nonetheless
you prayed to God
and somehow you knew
he would hear

it brings me such comfort
knowing when you left this world
you did so with faith in a
Divine Power
in Angels, In Heaven
and also here on Earth

I believe you are watching over me
and sometimes feel you touch my face
I hear you whisper in my ear
"I love you, and I am always near"
and I believe that one day
I will see your face again

For all the times you prayed for me
I thank you my sweet beloved mother,
and I will miss and love you
now and for all time.
