Missing your Presence

by Gwendolyn
(Orange City, FL)

Am I allowed to be a partaker
only to be awakened to the rise and fall of the curtain
hardship seems to be my neighbor
salivating for your intrusion
the sword keeps all away
the caution sign lies about my neck
how can I be avoided for so long
missing your presence
missing your presence
missing your presence
a heartbeat chained to itself
apprehended by my own reasoning
my tongue speaks not of its desire
never met you and yet I hunger
