MOMMA'S EYES

by Sandra E Footman
(Maryland)

Mommas eyes smile at me
when I look in deep guess what I see
love beyond compare
not as powerful as god's
but yes, you can compare...

Look at me Momma I can walk
hear me Momma I can talk
listen to me Momma as I read

Look at me Momma as I get on both knees...
to praise the lord the way you taught
to give praise no matter how rough

Look at me Momma as I graduate...
I look for your kiss to warm my face
also your warm embrace...

Look at me Momma I'm with child
sit with me Momma awhile...

Mommas eyes smile at me
when I look in deep
guess what I see...
