MOTHER NATURE

by Sandra E Footman
(Maryland)

I lent you my trees and seas
the grass that grows beneath your feet

All the mountains both near and far
things as simple as gold
and precious as diamonds and rubies

Now, I look at this earth
all polluted and dismayed
nuclear plants going up each and every day

Come down lighting...
Come down rain...
Blow wind...Blow...
Let them know...
Mother Nature is alive and well

So, as you walk upon my flesh...
treat me as you own
and I shall do good by you
and all generations to come...

But, I warn you...
Don't fool with Mother Nature!
