Mow or Grow

Mow or Grow

Mowing the lawn is such a waste
Should grow food, fill a dinner plate.
Time was, the yard, English garden style.
Showcase of size and shape.

There is beauty in a salad row
From good earth, food must grow.
Just a treasured spot
Could help a lot.

Tea time, fresh herbs are fine.
Dried leaves for tea, top of the line.
A small treasured spot
Can produce a lot.

Beneath the power line
Asparagus spears in spring time.
Multiplier onions are early green
Need permanent spot, the garden queen.

Choose the food you prefer to eat
Home grown is hard to beat.
Mowing the lawn
Is not cheap.
