by Amanda Lynn Taylor
(Crystal River, Florida)

Voices from the church choirs
To the screeching of the tires
A yule tide carol
Or the voice of Daryl
In the woods
Or in the hoods
You hear it everywhere
If you dare
Just stop and stare
At the music all around
Like the howl of an old coon hound
Howling in the old town pound
Or the song of a country star
Singing in the downtown bar
Really it's not that far
The sound of music is everywhere
If you care
Take my dare
Listen to the world's melody
Trust me it's no felony
