MY DAD

by S.A. English

My Dad,
He was a brave soldier,
He came home from the war,
He would make my mummy cry,
He wasn't daddy any more,
David ! why do you shout at me,
Daddy would reply,
Because I bloody came back,
Because I watched friends die,
Talk to me then, help me understand,
How can I, daddy would say,
I don't understand myself,
Then the door would slam,
It was quiet once again,
mam and dad each wrapped up in pain

ME WHAT HAPPENS TO ME

I try and put the pieces together again
