My Everlasting Friend

by Briony Brimble
(New Zealand)

The wind whispers to us softly
as we gallop past.
Freedom enfolding us
in its everlasting arms

The fingers of the wind
blowing through our hair
The tresses caressed
My everlasting friend

The sound of his breathing
the song we play together
The sound of his breathing
My everlasting friend

Tears run down my face
as i run my hands across his coat
His eyes still reflecting love
My everlasting friend

I run into the countryside
the wind stinging my tear stained face
no more rides, though i won't forget them
My everlasting friend.....I lie down next to him and remember

the wind had whispered to us softly
as we galloped past
i'll mis you dearly
My kindest,loving,dearesT,everlasting friend
