My Friend Shosho

by Heather Ahmad
(Toronto)

The summer we met
how could I have known
I saw myself, quiet, alone
I was new to the crows
I needed someone who really cared
I never thought it would be you
who would come when I was silent
I did not know how it happened
You were suddenly my bestest friend
You told me about the guy you loved
I told you to be patient for him
I asked God to guide you and help you to see
I told you you can depend on me always
I love you,
My Best Friend
and sister-like person,
Shosho
