My patience for you will not wear off

by Ray a. Martinez
(San Gabriel)

When I met her twenty-four years ago,
she had my love
never saying goodbye,
she filled my skies with white clouds
and one dove
Taking a chance after all those years,
we met at a place,
talking for hour, not noticing this place
When all was well, noticing our confusion
Her insecurity, and my recent separation
Looking at each other, as time never stopped
Wanting more than the conversation
Returning each other back to never saying goodbye...
I miss her so deeply, looking at every face
In hoping I meet her again and to once more embrace.
