My Poetry

by Ibohal Kshetrimayum
(Shillong, Meghalaya, India)

Halfway on the curve of your waist
Poetry becomes audible
Climbing up your pelvis
Poetry is panting
Falling down your hips
Poetry dreams of feathers
In the heat of your thighs
Poetry melts
Crawling down your legs
Poetry laughs with Goosebumps
On the back of your knees
In a pool of warm sweat poetry swims
Holding a vine of blue vein on your ankle
Poetry descends to your feet
Between your toes becoming a river
My poetry flows on dust of the earth
What precedes this
I dare not write
For if I do so the world will be in flames
