My Promise

by Ava Logan

Aww man! My mommy is going to have a baby.
They cry all the time, are very snotty,
are cranky, stinky,
and take all of mommy's time.
But mommy said I'm going to be a big sister.
Wow a big sister, what's that I wondered.
She told me a big sister is someone special.
She told me I have to say the Big Sisters Promise.
She said
"do you promise to guide and protect them, lie and cry with them,
teach and embarrass them".
I said "I promise".
So then I said "Mommy what do they promise".
She laughed and said
"They always promise to get you in trouble".
Right then I wanted to take back my promise.
