My Valentine (A Shakespearean Sonnet)

by Patrick Villaroya
(Lodi, California, United States)

This is the day that I want to tell you,
A lot of things that i wanted to say.
Spending the time it took to pursue you,
Since I spotted you on that first school day.
I never tried to approach you because,
I thought that you were just out of league.
I want to tell you, you're someone I love,
I've held this so long, will we ever be?

I love your smile, your eyes, you're beautiful,
When I talk to you I get so clammy.
I think you are cute and so squeezable,
I hope that you won't come and deny me.
You are an angel, you're sent from above,
You are my only, my one and true love.
