Noise

by Sarah Sisson
(Worthington, Ohio)

I hear a loud, overwhelming noise,
It sounds so wonderful,
It’s like a million, new, shiny toys.
I sit there, and wonder,
What this sound could be.
A pleasant thunder,
Or maybe even the swaying of a tree.
This isn’t normal,
It’s like music,
But more informal.
The melody is just thick.
There’s only one solution,
It’s unusual,
To solve this mental illusion,
Find things that sound as beautiful.
It’s impossible.
