"Old Mr. Hubbs will never forget..."

by parrish
(Canterbury England)

Old Mr Hubbs will never forget
that old jalopy, he
won in a bet
that old jalopy
that took him out west.
No, old Mr Hubbs will never
forget, through that
jalopy he met Bess
whilst on his travels
out to the west
this tale he will unravel
though under duress
because although no romantic
he courted Bess
in that old jalopy he won
in a bet, and he
don't mean to be dramatic
but he'll never forget
that ol jalopy won him Bess
and although he never got far
in his journey west
he still got that car
and my grandma Bess.
