Peripheral Vision

by Angel M.
(Canada)

Alone she waits
An impostor
Catching glimpses into
Other peoples lives
She surrounds herself with
Beauty
Captured in a youthful body
She no longer possesses
Periphery
Forever on the outside
Looking in
One step out of time
Not quite in focus
Reaching backward
Hanging on
And wishing somehow
To forge a connection
An alchemy of thought
Recognized and unrelenting
Chasing away the darkness
And leaving her clean and bleeding
