Promise of Peace

by McCollonough Ceili
(Nashville, TN and Ireland)

When I look into your deep mahogany eyes,
I can see a promise of peace.
When I am on the brink of giving up and fearing your kind,
I find strength in your compassionate smile.
I know there is safety within,
Even though some say we can’t be friends.
There will come a time when the years of fighting will end,
And a new world of living together will begin.
Just tell me you want this as much as me,
For that will be the true promise of peace.
Together we can change the way things are meant to be.

Beautiful Sentiment
by: Ann Brien

Beautiful poem. Love has the power to overcome all obstacles whether they be geographical borders or religious differences. Wonderful sentiment, well done.

Also thank you for your lovely comment, much appreciated.
