Repercussions

by Moeketsi Lesaoana
(South Africa)

Strength doesn’t mean we have it all
But what’s necessary
Someone once told me this....
But I have nothing and even less inside of me
Fabrics that comprise and hold me together
Have all but been stolen and withered from me
And my needy heart jailed due to their indiscretions
My heart can’t take it because my thoughts overrun me
Forced to do hard time, so I cry the months
Until the day I remember the word “HEAL”
With my tears nothing but
The extraordinary repercussion to their sins
Now I know that true devastation lies in the
Unspoken words

You moved me in such a way. I cannot say how, just in such a way. Thanks for that. Good read. Ti.xo :)
