Shall I be Sorry?

by Gwendolyn
(Orange City, FL)

Looking within your windowpane
I could not help but to surrender
your song encompassed me from every direction
and my heart is sorry

never felt invited, yet, I stayed
wounded yet, still clinging onto you
I became a beggar in your deepest chamber
and my heart is sorry

I gave constant thanksgiving into the midnight
the outcry of my soul was ignored
your quiver took aim at my reflection
and my heart is sorry
