Silence of Still

by Belle
(Florida)

Can we just lay still? Unmoving, hand in hand, side by side, breathing in and out. No movement. Just still. Lay listening to the silence of still. The silence becomes so loud and beautiful that sometimes I just sit and listen to what it has to say. The sort of ringing is amusing. To think, that under all of our breathing, talking, laughing, beating, this silence is always playing. Non-stop, and unappreciated. So hard yet so easy to hear if we just lay still.

And so very true. We should all listen to silence more often.

I really like this. It really makes you think.
I like the word usage.
Although....can it be called a poem if it is not in stanzas? In paragraph form wouldn't it be prose?
