STAY SAFE

by Lindsey Sweeney 11 YEARS OLD
(Anaconda Montana )

This is a poem I wrote for my dad who is in Iraq right now fighting in the war. I was really missing him so I wrote a true poem.

The poem is called "STAY SAFE"

Dark and Cold, Sad and Tense
No one wants to leave
No one wants to say goodbye

The bus pulls up
our Brave Soldiers come off the bus
Camo Uniforms, black Deadly Guns

Few precious moments come and go so quickly,
it is time for them to go,
their plane is here.

Silent tears fall like rain
I love you.
I always will no matter what happens.

Stay safe.
Come home real soon.

One silent goodbye, now you're gone
A year is such a long time.

Home of the free because of the brave.
