Tangled Web

by Marie Bowers
(USA)

Tangled in a web of despair.
Constantly clinging to the fringes.
Eyes open wide but still unseeing.
A truth so clear it’s left in fog.
Radiating warmth in a frozen atmosphere.
Struggle to lift another’s weight.
Broken, tattered and shedding tears.
Suspended in the irony.
Afraid to acknowledge fate.
Waiting on destiny.
