The tears stain my eyes,
I wonder how many nights I've cried,
thinking about your hurtful lies,
Of all the things I've tried

The tears stain my eyes,
The salty green of the sea,
As I listen to the gull's cries,
I think of what could be,

My eyes are nearly dried,
I really must seem tough,
All the things I've tried,
Did I try hard enough?
