Thankful For My Family True

Thankful For My Family True

Thankful For My Family True

Thankful for my family true.
With home and hearth and food to chew.
Weather comes and weather goes.
But turkey dinner steals the show.

Gravy, corn, stuffing, beans.
Parades and sports on TV screens.
Grandma, grandpa, sisters, bros,
Parents, kids and Uncle Joe.

Waiting, tasting, ready to eat.
Woof it down, then something sweet.
Took 12 hours of cooking time.
Gone in minutes, but oh sublime!

Why do this? Why travel far?
By plane or train or in the car?
For love and family and memories made.
Thanksgiving times I’ll never trade.
