Thanks to you

by Gwendolyn
(Orange City, FL)

Your gate has always been my source of strength
you clothed my midday discomforts
voyages left me suspended at your expense
my silence was elegant and soothed your burdens
thanks to you for the chuckles that mellow my soul
my mouth has surrendered to our yesterdays
weakened as we reflect on secret prophecies
encamp your heart around me this night
singe me with a cord of loving kindness
