THE DANCE

In the fading light,
her silhouette appears,
Gyrating to the rhythm
of beats and sounds
Slowly, she comes forward
as her cloak falls,
My eyes, bulging outwards
are set on her
Her accentuated figure,
makes me stare in awe
The bed, a lone figure
in the dim light
Witness to the unification
of body and soul
Partaker of the flowing sweat and juices
The rhythm so slow,
dance approaches climax
Suddenly, it pauses for a second
The groans emanating from within are now muffled
As she leaves the hut,
satisfaction is evident
But...nine months later,
shocking revelation
As the profound truth hits me as reality
The product of the dance is here...
