The Day We Call Christmas

by Harold Morgan
(Clermont Florida)

As I wake up Christmas morning
with the snow around me falling
I think of what happened years ago
When Jesus Christ was born
on that cold December morn
the sky above the snow began to glow.
Along came 3 wise men
who brought there gifts and then
went away with happiness and glee.
but the greatest gift of all
wasn't the gifts of gold or myrrh
but the gift of life he gave to you and me.
So thank you very much
to the king we cannot touch
to the one who looks over when we sleep
Our lord was crucified
on that cross he never died
and all he asks is his memory we keep!
