The Fabric That Was Him

by Christine Redderoth-Roderick
(CT, USA)

Once he held her in his arms.
He pulled her into him.
He caressed her body and
kissed her without thought.
He told her how he felt
just by speaking the truth of him.
He wove her into his web.
It was complicated for them both.
What came before was the catalyst for
the present.
The approaching days held great promise,
for although they appeared to
be opposites they were one and the same.
She fell into his ways.
She became a part of his story.
She became woven into the fabric that was him.
