The First Snowfall

by Caneel
(Maine)

I hurriedly bundle up in
My warm jacket and snug boots
Eyes glued to the spiraling flakes outside

I rush outside and look upwards
I am granted the celestial sight of
The first snowfall, sparkling and gleaming on its way down to Earth

The slivers of heaven slowly falling
Grant the brown dirt a reverse pedestal of
Plush silver artwork straight from the realms of above

I lay back on the shivery ground
It looks like either the sky is falling or I am flying upwards
Bathed in a feeling of pure calm and purity, I close my eyes and let myself enjoy it
