The Heart of Majezty

by Majezty C. Navarro
(Redondo Beach, CA)

Sometimes I wish God hadn't blessed me with such a big heart
This heart of mine can be a gift and a curse.
At times this heart of mine becomes my greatest enemy

It has been broken once and has not been the same since
After being mended back together, I believed it was strong
its strength was all a fraud, there's still so much it fears.

My heart makes it hard to move on
I want to give my heart to her,
haunting flashbacks prevent the merger
I can't let my heart run my Life.
I must help it understand that nothing compares to the Love and Care of one of God's daughters.

Sometimes I wish God hadn't blessed me with this heart
This heart of mine can be a gift and a curse.
At times this heart of mine becomes my greatest enemy...
