THE INNER CHILD

INNER CHILD

Be not afraid of the child at play
There is one that lives in us all
It doesn’t matter what others say
Enjoy skipping rope or playing ball.

Not long ago you remember when
An energetic girl or boy
It was a different world then
A time to play with a favorite toy.

You are that child though now grown
Cluttered with other worldly thought
This is your time and life to own
Free the inner child you once sought.

Inner Child

Loved this poem. Simply stated in a fresh poetic way, and so true. We all need to remember and celebrate the little child within us.
