THE SEA AND ME

by Dr. Rick McGrath, Ph.D.
(Modesto, CA )

The smell of salt I can smell
The waves call me I can tell
Excitement runs through me
Sea Gulls flying so free.

The sound of crashing waves
Echoes through rocky caves
And where the shore meets the sea
Children play and run past me
They build castles in the sand
Everything all made by hand
The tide rises with great sudden
The wave washes up over them.

As the sand moves between my toes,
The sea water retreats as it goes
When the sun begins to set
All my expectations are now met
The sea has left me without regret

The sound of the sea now sung,
Salt air has filled my lung
As God has quieted the sea down
The gentle waves make an angel’s sound
