They Tore Her Down

Old Penn Station, New York City

They tore her down urban colossus.
They stripped her to her bones and left her for dead.

Everything she had been to them, everything she had done for them went unnoticed. She now laid in a pile of her own excrement.

Would they remember her ...for the shelter she gave them? Would they speak of her beauty?

All that was left were the ghosts that roamed her halls, the ghosts that refused to leave. The ghost who were forgotten just like her, because like her they too had been torn down.
