TWINKLING STARS

by Preston Thomas
(McCamey, TX)

The stars sparkled.
It was delightful.
They were red and blue.
I had nothing to do.
So I watched them twinkle in the night.
They were so bright
I sat there until twelve o'clock
The clock went "tic toc."
Finally it was time to go to bed.
I woke up
They were gone till night.
It gave me a fright that I would have to wait till night.
I love to see them twinkle in the sky
Like ten thousand fireflies.
The stars were bright as gold.
The stars were untold.
