Unwelcoming Me

by Emma Noyes
(Byfield, Massachusetts, US)

The eyes glare at me,

Staring into my soul,

Judging my every move,

The pain within thickens to a stone,

I will never call this place my home,

The only trouble that stands is the eyes that used to welcome me in,

At the last year I will turn away and feel no remorse,

Because those eyes so gallant,

Quickly change no longer welcoming or free,

But trapped within my grasp,

The eyes glare at me,

My only trouble,

My only home,
My control.
