Waking Up

by Bryse Micheal Scott
(Bellevile, Illinois, U.S.A.)

The Slumber was very long
I heard a noise in the background
I twisted and turned, it was a song
What I heard was a beautiful sound

A moment passes and I heard something new
I grabbed a boulder and put it on top of me
I was laying in grass, I felt the morning dew
I twisted and turned, this is not where I want to be

I threw the boulder off and boy I was mad
I slid off the heavy leaves
I opened my eyes and I was kind of sad
I had 30 minutes before I had to leave

I turned off the the dreadful sound
I got up and left everything on the ground
