Walltalk

by John Smallshaw
(London, England)

Can you hear it?
Can you feel it as it peels away?
A layer or two of life a day.
What do you say?

One day it's here..the next it's gone
Life though thinner carries on.
Can you bear it?
Can you wear it like a second skin?
Take a step outside and look within it's not a trick.

Can you hear it?..do you fear it?
If all you do is..
..sit and think upon the brink of a new day
The things you think will fade away...
..get out,get in and make the play.
What do you say?

Does it register tight to the scale?
Are you frightened..if you start you'll fail?
Remember
A ship in Dry Dock..does not sail..
..it rots.

Tis written, one need never fear as long as one
has nothing to hide...
