Who I Am

by Xavier Gowins
(Leadville, CO)

I would not be,
Who I am,
If it wasn’t for you
I thank you,
But also hate you
You were the best thing,
That ever happened to me
We had gone so far,
Just for it to be tossed away,
For stupid reasons
I love you though,
For you are like a sister to me
You have helped me through thick and thin.
The helpfulness I am grateful for
Bu the help just isn’t helping anymore
The Xavier before,
Is different,
Different than the Xavier now
I wonder how,
How I could’ve changed the outcome of now,
The now that pains me every day,
Physically and mentally
But I live with it,
Hoping that it will get better,
Which it hasn’t
I shall not blame you for this,
Though,
For I feel you were dissatisfied,
With me
But then again,
I wouldn’t blame you
